Updating a lookup table with a pipeline function

I read that Cribl has the ability to update lookup tables using REST API and with a search string, but I'm looking for a way to do it during the processing stage. Is this possible?

I see a Redis function and read something about that. If the values go there, is there a way to automatically lookup the results?
