How do I test a set of sample data all the way through it’s processing pipeline

Hi all, How do I test a set of sample data all the way through it's processing pipeline, which includes pre-processing. I want to see the end result (before destination). I know how to test it against a single pipeline - not sure how to include pre-processing as well.
